Analysis of Budget 2017
Given the global uncertainties facing Ireland, particularly since our UK neighbours voted for Brexit, Budget 2017 was always going to be a relatively conservative one. Taking this into account we should probably be grateful for the small mercies afforded to taxpayers in this budget. These include measures such as:
Termination of Carry Forward of Certain Unused Capital Allowances
2015 Tax Year is the first year that your clients will feel the effect of the 2014 “guillotine” on certain capital allowances.

The Companies Act 2014 commenced on 1st June 2015. This act introduces a number of new company types however, the majority of private limited companies in Ireland are expected to adopt either the New Model Private Company (LTD) or the Designated Activity Company (DAC); these company types are governed by Parts 1 to15 and 16 respectively.
