Speaking of Anne’s promotion Tax Partner Mary McKeogh stated: “Anne has been with the firm since we set up in 2012 and is an integral part of our success, helping me every step of the way to develop, strengthen and expand our taxation team. Anne is a highly technical tax specialist, able to interpret complex tax legislation and devise innovative solutions for clients. She leads our tax department and is held in the highest regard by her staff and clients alike. As well as being McKeogh Gallagher Ryan’s EIIS specialist she is also a national expert on this complex tax scheme and leads our fundraising projects each year.

Anne Hogan is originally from Ruan now living in Kilkishen, Co Clare. She is a First-Class Honours Law and Accounting graduate from the University of Limerick. Between 1998 and 2002 she trained in the financial services tax department in PwC in Dublin, qualifying as a Chartered Tax Advisor and a Chartered Accountant, post qualification Anne was promoted to the level of Manager.

After taking a year out to travel Anne returned to live in her native County Clare. She worked with BDO and Horwath Bastow Charleton in Limerick City before joining McKeogh Gallagher Ryan when it was established in 2012. She was appointed their Associate Tax Director in 2013 and has been instrumental in leading and expanding the tax department within the firm.

Anne has over 25 years’ experience working in taxation. She is an excellent generalist with expertise across all tax heads but has deep specialisms in succession planning, mergers and acquisitions and property transactions.

She is the firm’s Subject Matter Expert in the area of EIIS investment with over 15 years’ experience in both structuring and fundraising EIIS investments. She is a leading national expert in this technically complex tax scheme.

Anne still manages the personal and corporate tax compliance and consultancy for a portfolio of clients that include businesses in areas such as renewable energy, hospitality, manufacturing, property development and management as well as advising high-net-worth individuals on complex tax matters.

Anne is a member of the Irish Tax Review Magazine Committee and is a regular contributor of articles to this publication as well as to local and national newspapers. She recently featured in the EIIS supplement of the Sunday Business Post. She has also presented guest lectures in the University of Limerick on tax matters.
