McKeogh Gallagher Ryan Accountants celebrate a successful first year in business – attracting new clients and expanding employment.
In just twelve months we have already nearly doubled our staff numbers and now employ 20 staff, including a number of trainees from local colleges, providing strong career opportunities for the region’s graduates.
Speaking on the firm’s first year Partner MARY MCKEOGH stated: “It has been a very busy and exciting year. Opening any business in a recession is a challenge but we have received nothing but support from our clients and all our business associates. We are constantly adding to our client base – starting afresh is a great impetus for new ideas and ensuring you are doing all you can, and more, for your clients.
It’s also great to be based in the centre of the city. Limerick city centre is still in recovery mode but there is a definite energy among the city’s business community to get the city back on its feet and thriving. And it’s not just because of the recent sunshine and hurling success!”
MGR Accountants is a full service firm offering taxation, audit and assurance, business advisory and corporate recovery services. Our clients cover the length and breadth of the country and range from owner operators and private individuals to some of the State’s largest financial institutions and agencies. As a training firm we are committed to hiring graduates and giving them the best training possible, often coupled with the opportunity to build a long term career in the mid-west region.
EOIN RYAN, Business Advisory and Corporate Recovery Partner also commented on the firm’s first year in operation. “We are a young and proactive firm, and have worked hard to build the firm’s profile, getting involved in local and regional initiatives as we believe in active participation be that through membership of the Chamber of Commerce, Mary McKeogh’s participation in the Limerick-Shannon China Business Foundation or our staff being committee members of the Mid-West Society of Chartered Accountants. The Mid-West region has so much potential and such a strong SME sector which with the right support can really flourish and rejuvenate the whole region. We are already seeing signs of improvement with the new structure in Shannon airport, our third level institutions and their continued growth and hopefully the Limerick 2030 Masterplan.”
EOIN GALLAGHER, Audit and Assurance Partner, was also very positive. “Our first year in business has been very rewarding and we are very appreciative of all the support we have received from our clients and staff, enabling us to sustain a strong growth rate – hiring staff throughout the year and winning new clients and assignments each month. It’s always a challenge setting up a new business and holding your own against established and well known firms, but I think our presence in Shannon Street will be here for many years to come.”
