We are delighted to announce the promotion of Peter O’Brien to Assistant Manager in our Audit & Assurance department.
Peter is from Kilmore, Broadford, Co. Clare. He attended St Munchin’s college and the University of Limerick where he graduated with an honours business studies degree, majoring in accounting and finance. After college Peter undertook a three-and a half year chartered accountancy training programme. The majority of his chartered accountancy training was with Horwath Bastow Charleton Limerick, in their General Practice division. He joined MGR Accountants when it was established in July 2012, completing his training and qualifying in early 2013.
Peter now leads a team providing audit and accounting as well as assurance and compliance services to a large client base including manufacturing, property, professional service, IT, hospitality, retail and newly formed businesses. He is also a specialist in assurance engagements for professional service firms particularly in the legal and auctioneering/estate agent sectors. He also works closely with start-up companies, assisting them acquire grant aid, develop accounts and internal control functions and with the range of compliance issues they face from the Companies House and the Revenue. Peter also has a keen interest in sports and plays hurling with his local club Broadford, Co. Clare.
